TQ9288, not sure. In summer 1964 I spent 2 weeks of my summer vacation at the Woodside works of Edwin Danks (Oldbury) as part of my student apprenticeship (the rest at Oldbury and the Tipton depot of Babcock and Wilcox). I remember I worked out a short cut from the hostel in Edgbaston involving use of the rough Blackbrook Road (then open to through traffic) and then the works was not far after the second crossing of the Dudley canal, somewhere close to the derelict Pensnett Canal. All else I can remember is that it was a fairly open spot. The question is, where exactly was the works?
