TQ2452 : Colley Hill Water Tower in snow

taken 8 years ago, near to Reigate, Surrey, Great Britain

Colley Hill Water Tower in snow
Colley Hill Water Tower in snow
Built in 1911 by the Sutton District Water Company after its acquisition of the Kingswood and District Water Company. Although the top is a prominent feature of Colley Hill, it is surrounded by trees, and so the lower part of the tower is largely obscured, particularly in the summer (see TQ2452 : Water Tower on Colley Hill near Reigate). Seen here in snow following a heavy fall the previous day.
