Long Barrow
Long Barrow
The contours of the barrow, seen from the lane north of Ozleworth, are highlighted by the setting sun. "A Neolithic long barrow comprising an elongated mound 82 metres long and up to 34 metres wide, with a maximum height of 1.7 metres. Orientated northeast-southwest, the summit has been divided into two unequal halves, possibly by antiquarian digging. Some antiquarian reports refer to a barrow dug into in the late 18th century whose "contents proved uninteresting" " LinkExternal link . The trees, also shown in ST7996 : New and old crop near Symonds' Hall Farm, and Home Farm, on the right, are in ST8096.
