Corstorphine Hill Tower
Corstorphine Hill Tower
The tower isn't easy to photograph well because of the surrounding trees. Winter is the best time to try. See also NT2073 : Corstorphine Hill Tower NT2073 : Corstorphine Hill Tower. It was built in 1871, and a plaque above the door is inscribed 'Sir Walter Scott 1771-1832. Erected in 1871 by Wm Macfie of Clermiston. Presented to the city by W G Walker CA FSA Scot'. See NT2073 : Detail on Corstorphine Hill Tower. Just for a bit of confusion, the sign at the end of the path on Ravelston Dykes uses its alternative name, Clermiston Tower.
