An RAF engineer makes a final check on an RAF Sea King helicopter that has been stranded at the Borders General Hospital at Melrose for four days due to technical problems. The RAF had considered bringing in a Chinook helicopter to airlift the Sea King out but this was not required as RAF engineers resolved the engine problems over the weekend. The helicopter successfully took off on Sunday 10th January heading for RAF Boulmer where it will undergo further maintenance work.
