NZ0314 : Tough times for palm trees

taken 14 years ago, near to Boldron, County Durham, England

Tough times for palm trees
Tough times for palm trees
The frozen north is not exactly the place you expect to see unprotected tropical plants thriving, especially east of the Pennines at 240m and in a prolonged cold spell, but this one seems to be casting off the snow quite well in a Boldron garden. Time will tell how it gets on, but at least it seems immune from the rabbits which are eating the bark off everything else that isn't totally tough!
