Hyde Park: Rotten Row in the snow
Hyde Park: Rotten Row in the snow
Looking west along Rotten Row from Hyde Park Corner, a couple of days after considerable snowfall hit London and much of southern England. Rotten Row derives its name not from things rotten but from rats it would originally, in the 15th century, have been a row of ramshackle homes that would have become rat-infested. Today it is a long straight route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders running along the southern edge of Hyde Park.
