The River Teign
From the Bovey Basin Strategy, 5.26: Devon County Council, 2001 (with some extra punctuation).
"The study area [the Bovey Basin] forms part of the relatively wide flat river basin of the Teign, which contrasts sharply with the Teign's steeply-graded upper catchments on Dartmoor. The contrasting sediment-carrying characteristics of the two reaches of the catchment, and flash-flooding associated with steeply-graded poorly-vegetated catchments create dynamic geomorphological conditions. Evidence of scour, lateral shifting and sedimentation are apparent on the majority of upper river reaches in the study area."
