Candies (Inge Street frontage), 55 Hurst Street
This traditional sweet shop is on the corner of Hurst Street and Inge Street. The view shows the frontage to Inge Street. It actually forms part of the last surviving example of a back to back building in Birmingham. Now preserved by the National Trust, these were 19th century courtyards of working people's housing. This one dates from 1840, and comprises 50-54 Inge Street and 55-63 Hurst Street.
