Osmaston Saw Mill
Osmaston Saw Mill
Although widely described as a saw mill, the basement is also packed with water pumps that were driven both by the wheel and by a Campbell Gas Engine Company oil engine. The site pumped both drinking water from a spring and river water for use in a hydraulic power system. There was also once an auxiliary steam engine and its crankshaft survives loose in the basement of the mill.
In 2012 the site is getting a makeover.
