taken 8 years ago, near to Alrewas, Staffordshire, Great Britain

Alrewas Lock, Staffordshire
Alrewas Lock, Staffordshire
This is where the Trent and Mersey Canal descends to the level of the River Trent, which it follows for about two hundred metres before taking a more northerly course. The colour coded marker on the tail of the lock shows navigators coming down from Alrewas whether river conditions are safe to proceed. Today it is clearly in the green. SK1715 : Warning sign by the canal at Alrewas, Staffordshire
