Stagshaw Garden, Ambleside
Stagshaw Garden, Ambleside
This woodland garden, owned by the national Trust, was made by the late Cubby Acland in part of Skelghyll Woods. The object in the bottom right corner of the photo is part of the roots of a fallen tree; it had grown in very shallow soil over the bedrock.
