Penmaenbach footbridge
Penmaenbach footbridge
A substantial footbridge carries the combined foot and cycle-path across the railway as it leaves the Penmaenbach (railway) tunnel, which is at a lower level than the road and somewhat inland since the original road more or less follows the rocky coastline. In the distance, afternoon sun is illuminating the upper working face of the long-disused Conwy Quarries which exploited the rhyolite rock.
