Tree cutting of forestry plantation. This whole zone was cleared in a matter of weeks. The intention is, with much of the land along the trails, is to restore the Caledonian woodland. Selective deforestation and subsequent afforestation with native species is occurring at Achnashellach organised by Trees for Life. Remote valleys have preserved original stands of Scots pines.
