St Martin's Theatre
St Martin's Theatre
Often referred to as "the home of the Mousetrap", St Martin's Theatre, located in West Street, near Charing Cross Road, was opened in 1916. The theatre was Grade II listed by English Heritage in March 1973.

Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" began its run in London in 1952 at the New Ambassadors Theatre where it ran until March 1974. It transferred to the St Martin's Theatre next door re-opening immediately, thus keeping its "initial run" status. It has made theatrical history by having longest initial run of any play in history. It is the longest running show (of any type) of the modern era. As noted by the neon sign advertising "58th year".

The blue plaque on the wall commemorates the 50th anniversary performance on 25th November 2002.
