SD8880 : Zig-zag drop on the Upper Wharfe

Zig-zag drop on the Upper Wharfe
Zig-zag drop on the Upper Wharfe
This drop can be seen from downstream at an unpaddleable low level as SD8880 : Waterfall and Trees on the Wharfe.. With a little snowmelt (but nothing like a full thaw), the level is up to about the lowest you'd want, to avoid a bump and scrape. At this level, you have to pick a line carefully down this drop - the approach river left is too shallow, but there is a pinning risk on the rocks river right after the first little step. The line is in on the right, then cut quickly left to the main flow, and boof the main drop, which you only have a fraction of a second to assess as you approach the lip. The bottom of the fall can be seen as SD8880 : Splashy fall on the Upper Wharfe.
