Autumn Cherry outside Yorkshire Museum
The York Museum Gardens were laid out in the 1830s in the former abbey grounds, by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society. The gardens contain an excellent collection of trees. The Museum was designed by architect William Wilkins in a Greek Revival style and was officially opened in February 1830.
