Monument to the first eisteddfod
Monument to the first eisteddfod
Close to the wall of Cardigan Castle, this standing stone was erected in 1993 to commemorate what is held to be the first eisteddfod in Wales which took place in 1176 at the castle following its re-capture from the Normans by Rhys ap Gruffydd.

Bridge Street runs between it and the River Teifi, with the bridge to the left.
