Frosted hedgeline tree
Frosted hedgeline tree
36 hours ago, freezing rain (that's supercooled raindrops that turn to ice as they land) had fallen onto cold surfaces, coating all the tree branches, even small twigs, in ice. Later, it had turned to snow, adding a further white layer to everything. The start of the thaw meant that ice and snow had started to fall from the trees in the slightest breeze, but this one still retained most of its attractive frosting, despite the road surface having turned to brown, muddy slush.
