Museum View in the fog
Museum View in the fog
The house was named before the trees grew up, and probably before more recent building in the village. The Bowes Museum certainly isn't visible from here in the fog ! The combination of warm damp air over ground very cold from the previous night's hard frost, and still some lying snow, means that the village has been enveloped in mist or fog all day. Almost every house in the village has recycling boxes and bags outside - not because the recycling collection is due today, but because the council didn't make the effort to tell anyone what days they were intending to collect over christmas (and the information couldn't be found on their website either), and then missed a collection in the cold weather. The result has been bags and boxes all over the village for the last eleven days, with the likelihood that they will be there another three days yet...
