House numbering mystery, Brynglas Avenue
House numbering mystery, Brynglas Avenue
The garages on the east side of Brynglas Avenue occupy a 40-metre long gap in the houses.
The semi-detached house on the left is 72 Brynglas Avenue; the terraced house on the right is 22 Brynglas Avenue. The gap in the numbers is thus 24 even-numbered houses, too many to have fitted in to the 40-metre gap. And of course it would have been an expensive exercise to demolish houses to make way for garages!

So whether or not there used to be houses on the site of the garages, it's a mystery why the semi-detached houses (built after the terraced houses) are numbered from 72.
