Pound Marsh
Pound Marsh
The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map.An electricity pylon in the distance is the only focal point before the rising ground that marks the beginning of the Weald. Much of the Pevensey Levels is still used as pasture as it has been since the land was inned 8-900 years ago unlike Romney Marsh to the east where a considerable amount has been converted to arable.
