The Orange Tree, 16 King Street
The Orange Tree, 16 King Street
The Orange Tree is believed to date from the early 17th century, and to be one of the oldest of Hereford's pubs. It still has many original features. At one time it was known, perhaps not officially, as The Apple Tree. When photographed in early January 2010, the pub was to let, but still open for business. A year earlier it had been the subject of an over-night paranormal investigation by the South Gloucestershire Paranormal Investigation Team, together with the Haunted Hereford Team. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they concluded that it was indeed haunted!
