NZ0314 : South-facing slope above Thorsgill Beck

taken 8 years ago, near to Boldron, County Durham, Great Britain

South-facing slope above Thorsgill Beck
South-facing slope above Thorsgill Beck
This triangular field slopes southwards to a tree-lined field boundary along the line of Thorsgill Beck. Usually there are sheep grazing, but all the livestock seem to have been moved from the fields during the thaw, although they stayed out throughout the month of snow cover. The Beck is gurgling merrily away, though most of the snow has now gone and the level has dropped quite a bit since the peak of the thaw. The field boundary at the far right of the picture adjoins the Boldron to Starforth road on the north side of the NZ0314 : Hazardous bridge over Thorsgill Beck.
