The Marsh Harrier public house on Ipswich Road (A140)
The pub was originally (in 1840) known as "The King of Prussia". Initially a small cafe with tea garden it was later run as an inn until the outbreak of WW1, when its name was changed to the "George IV". After a refurbishment it is now called "The Marsh Harrier" to reflect its rural surroundings and proximity to the River Yare. Why the marsh harrier depicted on the pub sign (which has since been replaced) has RAF roundels painted on its wings I do not know.
