Outer Wall, Pevensey Castle
Outer Wall, Pevensey Castle
A mixture of masonry from different periods make up this section, the original Roman wall is still there but with added medieval building on top and to plug repairs. Finally the bastion to the left was added during the Tudor period and originally had openings with views across the marshes which were filled in during the Second World War when parts of the fort were refortified.
