Last Snow in Pevensey Recreation Ground
Last Snow in Pevensey Recreation Ground
The last reminder of the snow that fell and covered the area the week before which has since melted away. According to the 1839 tithe map this ground was Lammas Land an area of land held by several people that allowed common rights for part of the year, usually from Lammas to Candlemas (1 August - 2 February). At some point the land has fallen to a local council who has turned this part into a recreation ground.
