Berrington Hall parkland
Berrington Hall parkland
Looking east across the top of the park to the ha-ha and house. Thomas Harley started to create the park himself in 1775. He was a friend of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and would have been much influenced by the famous landscape designer. Henry Holland, who was the architect of Berrington Hall, was Brown's son-in-law and business partner. Brown himself supplied a formal plan to finish off the landscaping in 1780.
