Cow Bridge No 45 at Wychnor, Staffordshire
Cow Bridge No 45 at Wychnor, Staffordshire
Trent and Mersey Canal, open here by 1770, and fully to Preston Brook, 1777. The bridge allows access from the village to the fields by the River Trent, and the boatyard/moorings business by the canal. Boats are directed to pass through by the towpath. There are underwater obstructions to the left. The water level does rise a little here when the river is in flood.
