Canal lock, Thurnham
These locks seem enormous when compared with those on the narrow canal.
The Glasson Canal
The Glasson Canal was constructed 1823-6, and connects Galsson Dock with the Lancaster Canal. The locks can take boats up to 22m long, 4.2m wide and 1.2m draught. The rule is that the top gates of the locks shall be left closed and locked. (LinkExternal link
