SD9766 : Central line on Conistone Falls

Central line on Conistone Falls
Central line on Conistone Falls
The centre of Consistone Falls is the recommended line in at least one guidebook, whilst another suggests somewhere over to the right (probably not runnable at the level seen here). In these conditions, this line is probably the easiest, but slightly bumpy, and already there is a boil just ahead of the paddler running the line which gets bigger in higher water. A week ago, in snowmelt, this central line looked quite nasty, with a substantial and boily stopper, but an inspection from the left bank revealed a good line boofing off a ledge and avoiding the stopper entirely. This is also feasible in medium-low water, as in SD9766 : Left line on Conistone Falls.
