SD9771 : Middle Wharfe paddling party

Middle Wharfe paddling party
Middle Wharfe paddling party
After SD9672 : Setting off to paddle the Middle Wharfe, the river continues with shallow shingle rapids between drystone walls and overhanging trees. The level shown is a lowish one for winter, the snow having mostly melted earlier in the week, and no more rain having topped the river up. In these conditions, the section from Kettlewell to SD9767 : Conistone bridge can be a bit of a bump and a scrape, so many groups miss out this first five kilometres, making a shorter trip down to the SE0063 : Middle Wharfe take-out at Linton. This is, however, quite a sensible level to contemplate a SE0063 : Successful run of Linton Falls.
