Steps to the beach from Tower Promenade
Steps to the beach from Tower Promenade
Looking along the sea wall on Tower Promenade at New Brighton. The old stonework has had modern blocks added to the top to provide additional protection from high waves, but the old iron railings have been retained and the modern concrete blocks fitted around them. At the top of the steps there are five signs warning of the dangers of soft sand, silt and mud, rising tides, slippery surfaces due to algae etc, authorised vehicles on the beach, and flooding on the promenade.
