NZ0313 : Ponies at Gallow Hill

taken 14 years ago, near to Boldron, County Durham, England

Ponies at Gallow Hill
Ponies at Gallow Hill
There's not a lot of grass left for the stock after a month with the fields covered with snow, and it will take a while to recover in the spring after it has been trodden into a quagmire. There are two fences across this big meadow (with two stiles for the public footpath), which has rather spoilt its use as a ski slope - about the only slope in the immediate vicinity of Boldron which is steep enough when the snow is soft.
