British Sugar, Ipswich, Suffolk
The factory was built in 1925. It was closed by British Sugar 76 years later, when production was moved to Bury St Edmunds and Cantley. Since then, it has been empty, and there are apparently plans to turn the entire site into a housing area, along with a nature reserve.

Following some late-night discussion, we had decided on a Suffolk jaunt to fill our day. We made an early start, and after realising that my SatNav was definitely on a mission to screw us over and was best ignored, we arrived at the factory not too long after the sun had come up.
