Falkland Yard
Falkland Yard
The Ayr to Glasgow railway, once operated by the Glasgow and Southwestern Railway passes through extensive sidings. No doubt these were once very busy handling coal for export by rail, or through the port of Ayr. Today there are still coal trains here, fed by inland opencast mining.
