Silvas Capitalis
Silvas Capitalis
Silvas Capitalis or Forest Head is a very recent (June, 2009) addition to the Kielder Arts and Architecture program. Created by SIMPARCH, a group of artists based near Chicago, it reminds us of the much more intimate relationship earlier inhabitants had with this remote, rugged landscape. Visitors can seen through his eyes, or listen through his ears. The head also acts as a very welcome shelter along an otherwise inhospitable length of the shoreline of Kielder Water
