SS8777 : Woodland by Ogmore Castle

taken 9 years ago, near to Ogmore, The Vale of Glamorgan/Bro Morgannwg, Great Britain

Woodland by Ogmore Castle
Woodland by Ogmore Castle
A view from Merthyr Mawr Warren of woodland both to the west and the east of Ogmore Castle.

A part of a large area of mixed woodland lying between the Ogmore River and the lane from Merthyr Mawr to Candleston Castle is seen in the foreground. The subject grid reference given is a point in this group of trees.

The large area of woodland lying nearest to the camera beyond the castle ruins consists of Coed-bach and the western end of King's Wood (the two indistinguishable in the picture) and - like the castle - lies in the north of grid square SS8876. The more distant trees, to the left of the photograph, are near Ewenny.
