'Blacksmith's Needle', Quayside
A forged steel cone in six sections. Each section contains objects, mostly with a maritime theme, which relate to one of the senses. It was made in 1996 by Members of the British Association of Blacksmith Artists and was inaugurated in May 1997 by Evelyn Glennie (percussionist) by ringing the bell which hangs inside the needle.
