SS6694 : Ruined factories near Landore This is all that remains of the Yorkshire Imperial Metals copper works at Landore. The building on the left houses the ruinous remains of a uniflow steam rolling mill engine, while outside there are the remains of the rolling mill. This site was operational until 1980 (if I remember correctly) and there was the intention to preserve the engine. However, thieves have comprehensively trashed it. A similar engine at Abercarn was allowed to go for scrap, partly on the understanding that this larger engine was being preserved!
