Boys recovering from their busy season
Boys recovering from their busy season
This field has been set aside for all the tups to come and recover from tupping time which has just ended. Most ewes come into oestrus from August until January with a peak during October & November, so the males (tups) are extremely busy at this time. On a fenced lowland farm each tup will be allocated between 50 & 65 ewes. However, until next autumn they just use up grazing and need to be kept separate from the ewes and lambs.
