Castletown - Castle Rushen - View to north.
Castle Rushen is one of the best preserved/maintained medieval castles in Europe. This castle was built in stages (1250, 1392, 15th century, 16th century). In 1313, Castle Rushen was beseiged and taken by Scottish king Robert the Bruce, but he couldn't hold it. Eventually, England prevailed over Scotland and granted the Lordship of Mann to various English noblemen.
