SE4290 : Sandstone exposure, Cotcliffe Bank

taken 8 years ago, near to Borrowby, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Sandstone exposure, Cotcliffe Bank
Sandstone exposure, Cotcliffe Bank
This would appear to be the most westerly exposure of Jurassic sandstone in NE Yorkshire, being 3-4 miles west of the main bulk of the North York Moors. The face looks as though it has been quarried, but this cannot be confirmed from old OS maps.
