Kayaks add a splash of colour to a very monochrome scene at the river-left take-out for the Upper Wharfe. Time for a bit of photography whilst waiting for the shuttle to retrieve the van left at Beckermonds when SD8780 : Starting the Upper Wharfe, but we decided that a pint in the George was probably not appropriate before setting off down-valley to the Middle Wharfe, which had rather more water in it than this run. Not much snow had melted this high in the valley, and a lot remained in Wharfedale generally, but for some reason, a lot more seemed to have melted in Littondale, so the Skirfare was well up, leading to a good level in the Wharfe below SD9767 : Conistone bridge.
