Waverley Line, Gorebridge
Waverley Line, Gorebridge
Former railway from Edinburgh to Carlisle via Galashiels and Hawick. There are plans to reopen it as far as Tweedbank, but the work is constantly delayed. The cost, fears of gouging fares and the fact that only Galashiels will directly benefit have made the project a divisive issue in the Borders.
