SK4332 : Signpost at Nooning ford

taken 8 years ago, near to Draycott, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Signpost at Nooning ford
Signpost at Nooning ford
The very weathered inscription reads "Bridleway to Draycott", and the signpost points to the site of the old Nooning ford. The old lane from Ambaston to Draycott crossed the river Derwent here: I suspect it would be a very brave or rash rider who tried to cross now as the river runs swift and deep.
