Ings Farm
The machinery in the distance is being used to quarry sand and gravel.
In the distant past the Vale of Pickering was a Glacial Lake, there are deposits of Lacustrine (meaning formed by a lake) Sands and Gravels in many areas in the vale.

The hills in the distance are the southern edge of the North York Moors, this part of the hills are quite flat topped and are often called the Tabular hills.
