Rhiw Fawr and the Dylife mountain road
Rhiw Fawr and the Dylife mountain road
The minor road from Machynlleth to Dylife climbs steeply onto the plateau following the grassy ridge named Rhiw Fawr ('big hill'). Until very recently, the road was closed due to snow drift - the diversion signs were still up at Machynlleth. The Wynford Vaughan-Thomas memorial toposcope LinkExternal link can be seen at the centre of the picture. The wide valley in the background is Dyffryn Twymyn.
