I have named this #2 as I already have a similar shot from over the summer, TQ3079 : The London Eye, but this time I have used my Sony DSC-H50 camera and I have taken it from Jubilee Gardens. I know I've slightly cut off the bottom edge of the wheel, but if I moved back any further, I would've ended up treading in thick mud (it was very muddy on the green indeed)! There seems to be a capsule missing in the bottom-right hand corner - maybe this has been taken down for cleaning or maintenance? View taken looking west-southwest towards Westminster.
1888 puts it in the William Ewart Gladstone era; but is it he? If not, who then? There are apocryphal stories of notable Conservatives confusing the NLC for a public convenience when on their way to the House. Perhaps this is one of 'them' leaving.
