Templeton's Carpet Factory
Templeton's Carpet Factory
This is a most unusual building. Behind the spectacular facade was a functional carpet factory belonging to James Templeton from Paisley. It was built in the early 1890's, and the design was based on that of the Doges Palace, Venice. This suited the residents of Monteith Row who did not want to look out of their windows onto a factory.
